Bizzarrini - a brief history

Giotto Bizzarrini was already well known in the automotive industry as a leading luxury car designer before staring up his own auto manufacturing business. He worked on numerous projects for Alfa Romeo and Ferrari prior to lauching his own brand. Giotto Bizzarrini designed the much hyped Ferrari 250 GTO which is still highly regarded and a firm favourite for Ferrari motoring enthusiasts.

The history of the Bavarian Motor Works (BMW)

Karl Rapp establishes Rapp-Motorenwerke in an old bicycle factory near Munich. He initially begins manufacturing his own aircraft engines but these had technical issues which Rapp was unable to correct. He then switches to building Austro-Daimler aircraft engines under license. These engines during World War I established BMW’s tradition of excellence and reliability which was widely praised by aviators of The Great War. The BMW emblem symbolizes a rotating airplane propeller from these early years as an aircraft engine manufacturer. After the war an aircraft fitted with a BMW engine gained the world altitude record!

Alfa Romeo Car Company

The Alfa Romeo Company has played a very important part in contributing throughout this century to many memorable pages in the history of the motorcar. Ford 2005

In 1903, Henry Ford founded the Ford Motor Company in the United States and changed the way car manufacturers operate by introducing the moving assembly line and mass production techniques along with other innovations which were soon to be industrial worldwide practices. The company is a true pioneer for the automotive industry was one of the first to offer practical and affordable cars to the masses. Just 5 years later, the Ford Motor Company produced the Model T which was the first reasonably priced, reliable, and efficient motor vehicle in 1908. The Model T was also easy to operate, maintain and handle on difficult terrain but more importantly it was an immediate success.
